The real magic of a choir happens as we come together and make music. We want this to be a happy and uplifting time. Let the music move you. Let the messages penetrate and warm your heart.
We are a community choir. We each bring talents and flaws. Through this choir, we want to express our love for music and the highest thoughts and feeling which art can provide.
Because I want to improve my skills I will make a contribution in the following ways:
- Show up. I will attend rehearsals as much as possible. If I need to miss, I will email with as much lead time as possible. I will not miss more than 3 rehearsals in a “season” or I may lose the privilege performing with the group. Dress rehearsals and performances are mandatory.
- Be on time. I will make every effort to come to rehearsals and performances with enough time to get settled and be ready to sing.
- Be prepared. I will put in the time necessary to truly add to the sound and performance level of the group.
- Improve. I will improve my musical, blending, and vocal skills according to the coaching and direction of the conductor.
- Pay attention. I will focus on the music and the director during rehearsals. I will limit my phone and other interruptions.
- Donate funds. I will pay the fee of $60 per “season” so that others don’t have to invest personal funds to purchase music, folders, costumes, venues, instrumentalists, etc.
- Make friends. I will connect with others in this unique and giving community.
- Support. I will support the decisions of the group regarding performance times, attire, memorization, and artistic interpretation. I will not grumble.
- Promote. I will promote our concerts and encourage others to attend. I will invite other talented people to join the choir as needed.
